*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Dear God, fount of all wisdom, in whom we live, and move and have our being as children of the most high, we praise and thank you, that in the humble witness of the apostle Peter, you have shown us the foundation of our faith. Give us the light of your Spirit, that, recognizing in Jesus of Nazareth the Son of the Living God, we may be living stones for the building up of your holy church; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to call to you saying:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen, Amen.

If God had not been on our side, to draw us underneath the flood, when wars around us rose; were God not at our side.
Who would have been the sure defense against our mortal foes? The Lord be praised, at whose right hand our enemies are stayed;
their anger at our presence raged; our lasting shield, the name of God, their wrath, a swelling tide, who heaven and earth has made.

Minister: Hear these words of Paul to the Church at Rome, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.” [Romans 12:1 The Message] In that spirit, we bring our offerings to God.
