CHIMES AND TOWER BELLS

THE CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Samuel R. Schaal
Minister: We come from many places to become one congregation.
People: With different names, faces, histories, we are still one in Christ.
Minister: Others also gather in Christ’s name.
People: We share our faith with them.
ALL: Make us one, O God, through our worship and praise. Alleluia!

*HYMN 490 This Is Our Church

*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and sent into our hearts the Spirit of your Son. Give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that all people may know the glorious liberty of the children of God; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, and taught us to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen, Amen.

How good when all the earth is one, As oil anointed Aaron’s head, And hearts embrace community; And dew adorns the mountainside,
When strife will cease to separate, So peace and blessing of the Lord and love binds all in unity. Within the faithful heart abide.

THE PRAYER OF MINISTER AND PEOPLE

THE RESPONSE TO PRAYER

THE OFFERTORY

The willingness to give is a sign of life. The fruit tree gives of its fruit, and we know it is alive. When it no longer gives, we know real life has gone out of it. The heart that hoards the blessings of God is no longer alive with spiritual power. To give is to live. With joy, then, we show our unity in the Body and our life as we offer our gifts to God.

WORSHIP IN MUSIC Just a Closer Walk with Thee Traditional American song arr. Walters

*THE DOXOLOGY (Hymn 563)

Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
