*HYMN 125 Angels, from the Realm of Glory
*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Eternal God, as we come to a new year and ponder the meaning of time, we pray that you would be with us as we journey with your Son, Jesus. As we reflect upon all of the endless possibilities of creation we are overwhelmed that you gently called each one of us into being. That we were a thought to you before our birth, that you gave us a name, that you made us all in our own uniqueness when you could have fashioned someone else, to us this is a mystery. We thank you for your creative love which made us and for your redeeming love which makes us whole.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
