*HYMN 445 Make Me a Servant
*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Almighty and ever living God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayers for this, your congregation. Strengthen us, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; Lord, God, you are the source of all wisdom and understanding; We pray that you look graciously on us, and guide our minds, for we are your servants. We pray for the grace and love so that we may care for each other and equip us for our ministries. Direct us, O Lord, in all that we do, and further us with your continual help; that all our works may begin, continue, and end in you so that we may glorify your holy Name. Lord, as we begin this new year, grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what you would have us to do. Save us from pride and from false choices, that in your light we may see light, and in your straight path may not stumble. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord who taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
