CHIMES AND TOWER BELLS

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Robert J. Brink
Minister: Creator and Provider, give us new breath for life.
People: Redeemer and Christ, show us your way to serve.
Minister: Spirit and Counselor, grant us wisdom and power.
ALL: Holy, Triune One, be light for our gathering and our following.

*HYMN 553 Gather Us In

*THE PRAYER OF INVOCATION and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Rev. Barry W. Szymanski, J.D

Almighty God, by whose Word all was created and by which we receive blessing and correction: In your loving kindness set in order our life and conversation that no adversity may prevail against us and we may not be found wanting in showing forth your grace; Through Jesus Christ our Lord who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns one God for ever and ever.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

THE INTRODUCTION AND COMMISSIONING OF SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS

*THE PSALMODY Psalm 19 sung to Ellacombe

The heav’ns unfold Your glory, Lord, Your Word is sure and perfect still
In ev’ry realm of space, A source of light and life;

The outmost bounds of all that is Your Law is right and reason-filled,
Resound Your wondrous grace. Your peace, the end of strife.

Succeeding days to day confess, Your everlasting truth and love
And nights to night record Can scarce be fully told;

In words, beyond our sense to hear, More sweet than honey from the comb,
The greatness of the Lord. More precious yet than gold.

The earth’s imagined cornerstones You know the secrets of our hearts,
Acclaim with joy their Source, But deign to love us here;

Who sets the gleaming stars ablaze, Preserved from pride and self-conceit,
And gives the sun its course. We meet You without fear.

In ev’ry place within the sphere May all the words our tongues shall speak,
Your craft is ever found; And all our thoughts in store

Majestic mountains, seas, and skies Find grace with You, Redeemer, Rock,
With ordered might resound. Now and for evermore.
