THE CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Robert J. Brink

Minister: Filled with the Spirit, sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs....making melody to the Lord in your hearts!
People: We will, giving thanks to God at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Based on Ephesians 5:18-20 NRSV

*HYMN 60 When Morning Gilds the Skies

*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

We sing our praises and thanksgiving to you, most holy God, as we joyfully worship you in gladness and song - our response to your gracious activity in our lives. You gather us together through the power and wisdom of your Holy Spirit and transform us into a community graced and held together by Jesus, our Lord. Help us to make the most of our time here today as we seek to glorify you. May you continue to be glorified in and through all we do in Jesus’ name today, and in all the days to come. This we pray in his name, who taught us to say:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

THE PSALMODY Psalm 111 sung to Westminister Abbey

With my heart, I praise my Maker can your heart with pity move?
Ever in God’s temple sing; may our sins by grace inherit
Great and glorious are God’s mercies, justice tempered with Your love.

Endless honor shall we bring To the Lord;
let all creation all Your laws are sure established,
With great adoration ring! Wrought of love and equity;

And the promise of Your mercy God, all gracious and all caring,
Shall endure all time to be. Send Your blessings from above;
