THE PRELUDE He Shall Fee His Flock Handel

CHIMES AND TOWER BELLS

THE CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Barry W. Szymanski, J.D.

Minister: All the earth belongs to God.
People: Let us lift up our heads and praise the Lord.
Minister: Who shall ascend God’s holy hill?
People: Those with clean hands and pure hearts.

*HYMN 388 Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart

*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit and taught us to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

THE PSALMODY Psalm 24 sung to Ellers, Hymn 575

Lord, all creation with Thy name resounds,
And all who dwell within earth’s ample bounds;

Ever above the seas have mountains stood,
Planted by Thy design upon the flood.

Who shall to Zion’s sacred heights ascend?
Within God’s house, whom shall the Lord defend?

The true, the meek, the righteous and the pure
Shall in God’s courts of blessing long endure.

Lift high your heads, O gates, before the Lord!
Unfold to greet our God with one accord!

Break free the bonds which bind you to your walls!
Welcome the mighty God, the Lord of all!

Lift up your heads, O ancient doors, and give
Passage unbarred to God, in whom we live;

Who is this God, who merits such delight?
The Lord Almighty, crowned in glory bright!
