THE CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Robert J. Brink

Minister: Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
People: Who alone does wondrous things.
Minister: Blessed be God’s glorious name for ever;
People: May God’s glory fill the earth! Amen and amen!

*HYMN 37 Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

*THE SCRIPTURE SENTENCE

If Christ is in you, the Spirit is your life. Romans 8:10

*THE PRAYERS Rev. Steven A. Peay, Ph.D.
[After the prayers we join the response:]

Minister: Lord have mercy.
People: Christ have mercy.
Minister: Lord have mercy.

[The Minister continues the prayers and then we all say:]

Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever and taught us to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

THE PSALMODY Psalm 20 sung to Aurelia

Lord, hear our supplication, The Lord shall with a victor’s crown
For trouble is at hand; Adorn the servant’s head;

And be to us a strong defense God’s foes proclaim their own conceit,
When foes against us stand. I praise my Lord instead.

Remember then our tributes, Their pride falls to destruction,
Each sacrifice to Thee; Yet I am ever brave,

Accept them as Thine honor due, Assured God’s purpose is to judge,
And bring us victory. God’s mercy is to save.
