*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Lord, our God, we thankfully gather together on this Holy Day for you have given us eternal life in and through your Son, Jesus. As we continue to live and work in this world, grant us your protection, and grant that we may share in the joy of your Son, Jesus. We pray that you transform our lives and enliven our hearts to more faithfully follow your Son, so we may receive that peace which only you can give. Lord, we remember with compassion those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Grant your bountiful blessings upon the families that survive them, and upon the veterans who have served our county. Lord, we also pray for the safety of the current members of our armed forces and their families as they stand to protect us. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

THE PSALMODY (unison) Psalm 1

1 Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers;
2 but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.
3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
