CALL TO WORSHIP Roxanne Trump-Miles
Liturgist: Sovereign God, so often we think we are abandoned.
People: Yet you show yourself face to face.
Liturgist: We wrestle with your call.
People: You pour out blessing.
Liturgist: We face the trial,
People: You preserve our lives and our hope.
ALL: You prevail against all that would separate us from you.
*HYMN 19 Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
*PRAYER OF THE DAY and THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Gathering God, take now our hearts, our minds and our lives, and tune them to sing Thy grace. Through all the struggles of our lives and through all our struggles with you, may we yet find blessing from the fount of all blessing—Thou, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Sustainer. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
*GLORIA PATRI (Hymn 558)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen, Amen.

Crying Holy unto the Lord, I’ve been introduced to the Father and the Son
Crying Holy unto the Lord, Lord I ain’t no stranger now.
Lord if I could I surely would, stand on that rock where Moses stood ,
Sinners run and hide your face, sinners run and hide your face.
Lord I ain’t no stranger now,
sinners run to the Rock and hide your face,
Lord I ain’t no stranger now.
The Rock cried out, “No hiding place.”
CALL TO PRAYER and SILENT MEDITATION
PRAYER OF MINISTER AND PEOPLE
OFFERTORY
Minister: “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). God has blessed us greatly. We now offer a portion of our supply for the ministries of our church.
OFFERTORY MUSIC Wafaring Stranger Traditional
I am a poor wafaring stranger, I know dark clouds will gather ‘round me,
While trav’lin through this world of woe. I know my way is rough and steep.
Yet there’s no sickness, toil or danger Yet beauteous fields lie just before me,
In that bright world to which I go. Where God’s redeemed their vigil keep.
I’m going there to see my father, I’m going there to see my mother,
I’m going there no more to roam. She says she’ll meet me when I come.
I’m only going over Jordan. I’m only going over Jordan,
I’m only going over home. I’m only going over home.
*DOXOLOGY (Hymn 563)
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
SERVICE OF COMMUNION
Invitation
Prayer of Confession (unison)
Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment. Set us free from a past that we cannot change. Open to us a future in which we can be changed. And grant us grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
