*HYMN 155 Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies
*THE PRAYER OF THE DAY AND LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
O God of the covenant, the cloud of your splendor and the fire of your love revealed your Son on the mountain heights. Transform our lives in his image, write your law of love on our hearts, and make us prophets of your glory, that we may lead others into your presence as Jesus led us when he taught us to say:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

THE CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
God of transfiguration, you meet us in the ordinary as well as the extraordinary moments of life. We seek you in the valleys and on the mountaintops. Yet we admit that too often our eyes are blind to your presence, too often our ears are deaf to your call. When you reach out to us through the cries of the hungry and homeless, too often our hearts shrink from your touch. Forgive us, we pray, and set us free to love and serve. Amen.
THE STORY
THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
(following “to those of the church on earth and in heaven” we all say:)
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
God of power and might
Heaven and earth are full of your glory,
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the One who comes
In the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the Highest.
(The Ministers continue the prayer and all join in the words in bold)
Lord God, as we come to share the richness of your table,
We cannot forget the rawness of the earth.
We cannot take bread and forget those who are hungry.
Your world is one world and we are stewards of its nourishment.
Lord, put our prosperity at the service of the poor.
We cannot take wine and forget those who are thirsty.
The earth and its weary people cry out for justice.
Lord, put our fullness at the service of the empty.
We cannot hear your words of peace and forget the world at war.
Show us quickly, Lord, how to turn the world’s lust for power into a desire for peace.
We cannot celebrate the feast of your family and forget our divisions.
We are one in spirit, but not in fact. History and hurt still dismember us.
Lord, heal your church in every brokenness.
(The Ministers continue the prayer)
THE PRAYER OF CONSECRATION AND BREAKING OF THE BREAD
THE COMMUNION
THE PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION (unison)
O God, before the passion of your one and only Son you revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
