*HYMN 199 Crown Him With Many Crowns

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

God of power and love, you raised Jesus from death to life, resplendent in glory for all eternity. Free our hearts and minds to rejoice in his peace, to glory in his justice, and to live in his love. Eternal God, lift our hearts to heaven, embolden our church with your power from on high, so that we might proclaim Christ’s love and continue his mission of help and healing to this hurting world. Bring us through the cross of mortal life to the Crown of life everlasting through Jesus Christ our Master, who taught us to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Congregational Response:

Gracious and healing God, bless these shawls to the work of our ministry. May these expressions of care from our congregation be a symbol of your love to comfort, shelter and shield those who suffer. Amen.

*THE PSALMODY (sung) Psalm 47 sung to CWM Rhondda

Clap your hands, O faithful people!
Shout to God a song of praise!
From the dust of conquered nations,
God a realm of grace shall raise.
In appointed courts of glory
Faithful to God’s name always,
May we prosper all our days.

With a shout, and blast of trumpet,
God shall mount a throne on high;
Let our praise, as finest incense,
Rise to meet God in the sky.
Fill the world with glad rejoicing,
Heav’n shall sing, and earth reply,
All God’s works to glorify.

Let your hearts be filled with gladness,
As the LORD your life shall bless;
Live as heirs of God’s great justice,
Wear the cloak of righteousness.
God will grant us earth’s dominion,
All things good, and nothing less,
For our gift of faithfulness.

{8:45 A.M. - Children ages 3 through 8th grade are dismissed to Sunday School during the singing of the Psalmody.}

The Pilgrim Choir Anthem

Maker In Whom We Live
Charles Wesley, 1747

Maker, in whom we live, in whom we are and move,
the glory, power, and praise received for your creating love.
Let all the angel throng give thanks to God on high,
while earth repeats the song and echoes to the sky.

Spirit of Holiness, let all your saints adore,
adore your energy, and bless your heart-renewing power.
Not angel tongues can tell your love's ecstatic height,
the glorious joy unspeakable, the beatific sight.

Eternal, Triune God, let all the hosts above,
let all on earth below record and dwell upon your love.
When heaven and earth are fled before your glorious face,
sing all the saints your love has made your everlasting praise. Amen.

The Chancel Choir Anthems

Teach Me, O Lord
Psalm 119:33

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

Jesus, Name of Wondrous Love
William W. How

Jesus, Name of wondrous love,
Name all other names above!
Unto which must every knee
Bow in deep humility.

Jesus, Name of priceless worth
To the fallen sons of earth,
For the promise that it gave,
"Jesus shall his people save."

Jesus, Name of wondrous love!
Human Name of God above;
Pleading only this we flee
Helpless, O our God, to thee.
Jesus, Name of wondrous love.
