CALL TO WORSHIP Jeremiah
1:4-8
Liturgist:
God said, “Before I formed
you I knew you. I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
People: But I do not know how to
speak. I am only a child.
Liturgist:
“Do not say you are only a
child. You will go where I send you. You will speak what I command. I am with
you.”
ALL: God
is with us. God guides us. God calls us forward to new light.

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
God of the ages, in you is all knowledge,
wisdom, power and love. Though we see only in part, you envision all there is
and you know us in our fullness. Help us to open ourselves to your guidance.
Give us the humility to trust your call for us and to acknowledge your
ever-present life which Jesus came to exemplify. Take us forward into
ever-deepening realms of vibrant living in this community of Jesus Christ our
Lord, who taught us to pray:
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.

{Children ages 3 through 8th
grade are dismissed to Sunday School
during the singing of the
Psalmody.}
In Thee, O LORD, I put my
trust;
Preserve from fear and shame
The righteous servant in distress
Who calls upon Thy name.
For from the moment of my birth
Through my allotted days.
I shall not waver in my trust,
Or cease to sing Thy praise.
O God, be never far from me,
Thy favor I implore;
I’ll hope in Thee all time to come,
And praise Thee evermore.

Pilgrim Choir Anthem
Beautiful Savior
Traditional
Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of
Creation,
Son of God and Son of man.
Truly I’d love Thee, Truly I’d
serve Thee,
Light of my soul, my joy and
crown.
Fair are the meadows, fairer
still the
woodlands,
Robed in flowers of blooming
spring:
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
He makes the sorrowing spirit
sing.
Beautiful Savior! Ruler of the
nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise,
adoration,
Now and forever more be Thine.
