*CHORAL CALL TO
WORSHIP
*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Come among us, Lord. You whom the angels
worship and children welcome. You who hurled the stars into space and shaped
the spiders weaving. You who walked the long road to Bethlehem and lit a flame
that dances forever. Come and meet us here as we gather in the name of your
Son, who taught us to pray:
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.

*THE PSALMODY (sung) Adaptation
of Psalm 36 to the tune “He Leadeth Me”
{Children ages 3 through 8th
grade are dismissed to Sunday School during the singing of the hymn.}
Thy gifts, O LORD, surpass the
heav’ns,
Thy faithfulness, the clouds
above;
How matchless is Thy
righteousness;
How dear is Thy redeeming love.
Beneath the shadow of Thy wings,
Thy people banquet at Thy board;
They drink the cup of pure
delights
And taste the pleasure of the
LORD.
God is the wellspring of my life,
And in God’s light, I light shall
see;
The pure of heart true favor
find,
And in God’s law their liberty.
He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
By his own hand he leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by his hand he leadeth me.
Amen

Let
Not Your Heart Be Troubled
John
14:1-4
Let not your heart be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the
way ye know.
Abide
with Me
Henry
F. Lyte, 1793-1847
Abide with me; fast fall the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide;
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O thou who changest not, abide with me.
I need thy presence ev'ry passing hour;
What but thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who like thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if thou abide with me.
Hold thou thy Cross before my closing eyes,
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heav'n's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life and death, abide with me.
Amen.
