We gather here to dive anew
People: into the creative water of
baptism and the fire of the Spirit.

God, our God:

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
(unison)
Gracious God, we come to worship Christ, our
newborn hope. We meet you at the River Jordan as you claim Jesus as your Beloved
Son. We meet you in the waters of our baptism as you claim us as your beloved
daughters and sons. Help us to hear your heavenly voice in our lives as your
Holy Spirit freely descends upon us and our congregation, gathered this day in
the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray:
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.

Star, O star of beauty, Eastern star so bright, Guide
us to the Savior and His mother mild.
Shine upon the manger, Lead us to the light. In
a lowly stable hope comes as a child.
Guide us to the Savior and His mother mild.
In a lowly stable faith comes as a child. Star,
O star of radiance, fill the darkest night
with
the joy of morning. Glorious is the sight.
Star, O star of wonder, calm the shepherd's fright. Guide
us to the Savior and His mother mild.
Give their hearts the courage to come to Him tonight. In a lowly stable love comes as a
child.
