*INVOCATION AND LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Almighty God, gracious Lord, pour out your Spirit upon your faithful people. Keep them steadfast in your Word, protect and comfort them in all temptations; defend them against every evil, and bestow on the church your saving peace. Reform us again and again until we become instruments of your love and peace; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

{Children ages 3 through 8th grade are dismissed to Sunday School during the singing of the hymn.}

Unto the Lord my praise I sing,

God’s goodness ever bless;

The proud convictions of my soul

Speak of God’s righteousness.

Come, magnify the Lord with me!

Together bring God praise,

Whose presence overcomes all fear,

And glory lights our days.

O taste and see, the Lord is good!

How blest are they who place

Reliance on God’s steadfast love,

And trust God’s saving grace.

So great the trial of the just,

Yet greater is God’s will,

That from the threat’ning chill of death

God’s truth redeems us still.

Go now in peace. Never be afraid.

Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.

Know He will guide you in all you do.

Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there, watching from above.

Christ Hath A Garden

Robert Bridges after Isaac Watts

Christ hath a garden walled around,

A paradise of fruitful ground,

Chosen by love and fenced by grace

From out the world's wide wilderness.

Like trees of spice his servants stand,

There planted by his mighty hand;

By Eden's gracious streams, that flow

To feed their beauty where they grow.

Awake, O wind of heaven and bear

Their sweetest perfume throughout the air;

Stir up, O south, the boughs that bloom,

Till the beloved Master come:

That he may come, and linger yet

Among the trees that he hath set;

That he may evermore be seen

To walk amid the springing green.
