CALL
TO WORSHIP (from Ecclesiastes 3:1-13)
Duane
Coates, Intern
Minister: For everything there is a
season,
People: and
a time for every matter under heaven:
Minister: a
time to be born, and a time to die; a time to weep and a time to laugh. God has
made
everything suitable for its time.
People: God has put a sense of
past and future in our minds.
Minister: It is God’s gift that all
should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil.
All: Today
is a time to be born afresh, a day of new beginnings!
*HYMN 8 Joyful,
Joyful, We Adore Thee
*INVOCATION AND LORD’S
PRAYER (unison)
Come
among this gathering, Gracious God, so we might know you in new and exciting
ways.
Open our eyes, open our ears, open
our hearts, open our lives to your vivid and real presence,
whom we know through Jesus Christ,
who taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in
heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not
into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.
