* INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Gracious God, again we wait for the glimmer of the light from the manger, to rescue a world
 drawn dark with despair. In this season of anticipation we prepare ourselves for the journey
 with you, so that the infancy of holiness might be born anew in our hearts, so that a new and
 life-giving spirit might be expressed from the tired structures of our lives. We ask this in the
 name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Break Forth, O Beauteous Heav'nly Light

Traditional

Break forth, O beauteous heav'nly light,

and usher in the morning;

Ye shepherds shrink not with affright,

but hear the angel's warning.

This Child, now weak in infancy,

our confidence and joy shall be,

the power of Satan breaking,

our peace eternal making.

E'en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come

Revelation 22

Peace be to you and grace from Him

Who freed us from our sins,

Who loved us all and shed His blood

That we might saved be.

Sing Holy Holy to our Lord,

The Lord, Almighty God,

Who was and is and is to come;

Sing Holy, Holy, Lord!

Rejoice in heaven, all ye that dwell therein,

Rejoice on earth, ye saints be low,

For Christ is coming, is coming soon,

For Christ is coming soon!

E'en so, Lord Jesus, quickly come,

And night shall be no more;

They need no light nor lamp nor sun,

For Christ will be their All!

                                        Choir Anthem

Chancel Choir 11:00

O Little Town Of Bethlehem

Bishop Phillips Brooks

O little town of Bethlehem,

How still we see thee lie!

Above thy deep and dreamless sleep

The silent stars to by.

Yet in they dark streets shineth

The everlasting light;

The hopes and fears of all the years

Are met in thee tonight.

How silently, how silently,

The wondrous gift is given!

So God imparts to human hearts

The blessings of his heaven.

No ear hay hear his coming;

But in this world of sin,

Where meek souls will receive him,

still The dear Christ enters in.

O holy Child of Bethlehem,

Descend to us, we pray;

Cast out our sin, and enter in,

Be born in us today.

We hear the Christmas angels

The great glad tidings tell:

O come to us, abide with us,

Our Lord Emmanuel.

Every Valley

Isaiah 40:4-5

Ev’ry valley shall be exalted,

and ev’ry mountain made low;

and the crooked made straight,

and the rough places plain.

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,

and all flesh shall see it together;

for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
