Almighty God, we thank you for planting in us the seed of your Word. By your Holy Spirit, help us to receive it with joy, and live according to it, that we may grow in faith and hope and love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray, sayingÉ

Patty Kostreva is pleased to be back praising the Lord at First Church. She was the soprano section leader/soloist of the Pilgrim and Chancel Choirs from 1984 to 2000. Currently, the Kostrevas attend RiverGlen Christian Church in Genesee Depot. Patty and her husband, Mark, reside in North Prairie with their children Olivia, Sam, and Grace. She is a music specialist with the Waukesha Public Schools and is excited to be returning

to a full-time position this fall.

Pauline Scribner celebrated her 100th birthday on July 2nd.  The cake  served at Coffee Hour today is provided by her daughter, Lynn Kaishian, in celebration of PaulineÕs birthday.

 

July 17th Worship Service will be held in the Social Hall due to the  painting project in the Nave.

 

Lectionary Bible Study has moved from Wednesday evenings to Sunday mornings as of June 12 until September 4 from 8:45 - 9:45 a.m. in the Resource Center. Drop in - no registration required. Childcare is available.

 

MenÕs Ministry will not meet during the month of July as Rev. Peay will be attending the ICF conference in Greece.

 

MenÕs Bible Study, with Maurie Daigneau, will meet on July 20 at 6:30 a.m.

 

MenÕs Tuesday Night Church League Softball TeamÕs next game is July 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Hart Park.

 

VBS 2005 Ventures to Jerusalem Marketplace.  Join us at Vacation Bible School August 1 - 5, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.  Experience new traditions, taste new foods, try new arts and crafts projects and discover JesusÕ unfailing love for each of us.  Register at the church office early to help with planning, and be sure to invite your neighbors and friends!

 

God and Me Program beginning this fall for first, second and third graders accompanied by a parent.  The program is designed to correspond with the religious component of Boy or Girl Scouts and is open to children who are interested in growing in their Christian faith. Led by Rev. Carrie Kreps Wegenast, a maximum of ten students will meet on five Sundays from 3 - 4 p.m. The fee is $10 per child. Please sign up at the church office.
