*CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP

*INVOCATION AND LORDÕS PRAYER (unison)

O God, our heavenly Creator, you who are to us a guiding Father and a nurturing Mother, we thank you for your Word and for those eternal truths that guide us day by day. We thank you for the Living Word, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and for the deep assurance that he is here, present with us. Teach us, in our time together,

to turn unto you so your thoughts may be our thoughts and your ways may become our ways so we may truly be your children who prayÉ

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

The Gift of Love

Based on I Corinthians 13

Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift to all inspire,

And have not love; my words are vain, as sounding brass, and hopeless gain.

Though I may give all I possess, and striving so my love profess,

But not be given by love within, the profit soon turns strangely thin.

Come, spirit come, our hearts control,

Our spirits long to be made whole.

O come, spirit, come,

Let inward love,

Let love guide every deed.

By this we worship, we are freed. Amen.

Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley

Traditional

Jesus walked this lonesome valley;

He had to walk it by himself.

Oh, nobody else could walk it for him;

He had to walk it by himself.

Jesus prayed for his disciples;

He prayed alone for you and me.

Oh, nobody else could bear such sorrow,

He prayed alone for you and me.

Jesus died on Calv'ry's mountain;

He died alone for you and me.

Oh, nobody else could die for sinners;

He had to die for you and me.

Jesus rose from death's dark prison;

He lives again for you and me,

Oh, nobody else could bring us victory;

He is alive to set us free!
