CALL
TO WORSHIP
Liturgist: ÒIn
the beginningÉthe earth was without form and void,Éand God said, ÔLet there be
lightÕ; and there was light.Ó
People: And God
saw everything that had been made, and Òbehold, it was very good.Ó
Liturgist: ÒIn
the beginningÉthe Word was with God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among
us, full of grace and truth.Ó
People: ÒBehold,
the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!Ó
Liturgist: ÒWhen the day of Pentecost had come,Éthey were all filled with the Holy Spirit.Ó
People: ÒAnd
they devoted themselves to the apostlesÕ teaching and fellowship.Ó
Liturgist: Like those disciples gathered in the Upper Room, we have come here today, O God, to experience your living presence.
All: Speak your word, O Lord, as you spoke your word in the beginning, and in Nazareth, and at Pentecost. And we shall be your witnesses to the end of the earth, in our work as in our worship.
*HYMN 246 Come,
Thou Almighty King
*CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP
*THE PRAYER OF INVOCATION
AND LORDÕS PRAYER (unison)
Eternal God, who
towers as high as goodness can reach and stoops as low as love can bend, we
worship you. In creation you come to us as a presence that enables us to
cultivate the earth and respect it. In Christ you come to us as a presence that
enables us to love our neighbors and serve them. In the Holy Spirit you come to
us as a presence that enables us to discern our oneness and celebrate it.
O Lord our God, our
Creator and Redeemer and Sustainer, even though you are present to us in more
ways than we can ever know, we come here today, not asking for your knowledge
but seeking your presence, through Christ our Lord who taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in
heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not
into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.

PRAYER OF MINISTER and PEOPLE
Minister: O God of greatness and goodness, not only did you
set us apart from the rest of creation, but you made us in your own image.
People: O Lord, give us grateful hearts, and let us rejoice in the presence of our Creator.

did you follow your people into the far country, but you took up the cross to
set them free.
People: O Lord, give us grateful hearts, and let us rejoice in the presence of our Redeemer.
Minister: O God of consolation and comfort,
not only did you bring us together in one place, but you called us to be your
witnesses.
People: O Lord, give us grateful hearts, and let us rejoice in the presence of our Sustainer.
Minister: Gracious God, you have revealed
yourself to us in more ways than we can recall or recount.
People: O Lord, give us grateful hearts, and let us rejoice in the love that will not let go.

Take Time To Be Holy
William D. Longstaff, ca. 1882
Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy
Lord;
Abide in him always, and feed on his word.
Make friends with God's children, help those
who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing his blessing to seek.
Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, like him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct his likeness shall
see.
Be calm in thy soul, beneath his control.
Thus led by his spirit to fountains of love,
thou soon shall be fitted for service above.
Laudamus Te (We Praise Thee)
I. Franz, 1719-1790
Holy God we praise thy name!
Lord of all we bow before thee;
All in heaven above adore thee;
All on earth Thy Power proclaim.
Infinite thy vast domain,
Everlasting is thy reign.
Hark! the loud celestial hymn
Angel choirs above are raising;
In unceasing chorus praising,
Cherubim and Seraphim
Fill the heavens with sweet accord:
Holy, holy, holy Lord!
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Robert Robinson (1735-1790)
Come, Thou Fount of Every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy
grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it, mount of Thy redeeming love.
Here I raise mine Ebenezer; Hither by Thy help I've come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God.
He, to rescue me from danger, bought me with His precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to
Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts
above!
Give To Our God Immortal Praise
Words: Isaac Watts (1674-1748)
Give to our God immortal praise,
Mercy and truth are all his ways:
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song.
Give to the Lord of lords renown;
The King of kings with glory crown;
His mercies ever shall endure,
When lords and kings are known no more.
He built the earth, he spread the sky.
And fixed the starry lights on high:
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song.
He fills the sun with morning light,
He bids the moon direct the night:
His mercies shall ever endure,
When suns and moons shall shine no more!
He sent his Son with power to save
From guilt and darkness and the grave:
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song.
Through this vain world he guides our feet,
And leads us to his heavenly seat:
His mercies shall for ever endure.
When this vain world shall be no more.
