*THE PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORDÕS PRAYER (unison)

O God, glorious and faithful, to those who seek you with a sincere heart

you reveal the beauty of your face. Strengthen us in faith to embrace the mystery

of the cross, and open our hearts to its transfiguring power;

that, clinging in love to your will for us, we may walk the path of discipleship

as followers of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you

and the Holy Spirit, and who taught us to prayÉ

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE OF PARDON

God of compassion, in Jesus Christ you reveal the light of your glory,

but we turn away, distracted by our own plans. We confess that we speak when we should listen,
and act when we should wait. Forgive our aimless enthusiasms. Grant us wisdom to live in your light

and to follow in the way of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

{after the minister says, Òwho forever sings to the glory of your name:Ó we all say:}

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

{the minister continues the Great Thanksgiving prayer}

THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD

THE COMMUNION OF ALL

Give Me The Wings Of Faith

Isaac Watts

Give me the wings of faith to rise

Within the veil, and see

The saints above, how great their joys,

How bright their glories be.

Once they were mourning here below,

And poured out cries and tears:

They wrestled hard, as we do now,

With sins, and doubts, and fears.

I ask them whence their victory came:

They, with united breath,

Ascribe their conquest to the Lamb,

Their triumph to His death.

They marked the footsteps that He trod,

His zeal inspired their breast;

And following their incarnate God,

Possess the promised rest.

Our glorious Leader claims our praise

For His own pattern given;

While the long cloud of witnesses

Show the same path to heaven.
