*INVOCATION AND LORDÕS
PRAYER (unison)
Almighty God, your Son
has opened for us a new and living way into your presence. Be with us in this
new year as we dare to step beyond comfort to discipleship, beyond fear to
faith, to find new meaning in this infancy of holiness now manifest to us. And
so we pray, in the way Jesus taught usÉ
Our Father who art in
heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as
it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as
we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Go now in peace. Never be afraid.
God will go with you each hour of every day.
Go now in faith, steadfast,
strong and true. Know He will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love, and show you
believe. Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there, watching from
above. Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.

Epiphany
Alleluias
From the
Propers for the Epiphany Season
Alleluia.
We have seen
His star in the East,
And are come
to worship Him.
Alleluia.
Arise shine,
For thy light
is come
And the glory
of the Lord is risen upon thee.
Alleluia.
We have seen
His star in the East,
And are come
to worship Him.
Bethlehem,
Of Noblest Cities
Prudentius
Prudentius (348-410), O sola magnarum urbium;
trans. Edward
Caswall (1814-1878)
Bethlehem, of
noblest cities
none can once
with thee compare;
thou alone
the Lord from heaven
didst for us
incarnate bear.
Fairer than
the sun at morning
was the star
that told his birth;
to the lands
their God announcing,
hid beneath a
form of earth.
By its
lambent beauty guided
see the
eastern kings appear;
see them
bend, their gifts to offer,
gifts of
incense, gold and myrrh.
Solemn things
of mystic meaning:
incense doth
the God disclose,
gold a royal
child proclaimeth,
myrrh a
future tomb foreshows.
Holy Jesus,
in thy brightness
to the
Gentile world displayed,
with the
Father and the Spirit
endless
praise to thee be paid.

When the
winter is dreary, and the trees are all bare,
When our
spirits are weary, and filled with despair,
We will long
for a new day when a warmer wind blows,
Where the
blooms are appearing, and the desert will blossom like a rose.
In the
wilderness, streams will break forth,
And all flesh
shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Then blind
eyes will see Him, and deaf ears will hear!
The lame and
the cripple
The legs of
the lame will leap like the deer.
O, how we are
longing; our hope ever grows for the day of His coming
when the
desert will blossom like a rose.
In the
wilderness, streams will break forth,
And all flesh
shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
And the
desert will blossom like a rose.
Three
Kings
Traditional
French Carol
Three Kings
in splendor went riding over desert and vale and hill;
They followed
far a guiding star; it shone serene and still;
it shone
serene and still.
Shepherds
shivered in their coats for bitter cold was the air.
They
journeyed far to find the King to bring Him their offerings fair,
their
offerings rich and rare.
Come royal
Kings in your glory, the One whom you seek is here;
Let every
crown bow humbly down while shepherds gather near;
While
shepherds gather near.
To a lowly
manger bed your presents gratefully bring,
Behold this
Child is Christ, the King, our Savior from heaven above.
He brings to
us peace and Love.
