CHORAL FANFARE
*HYMN 14 God
of Abraham Praise
*INVOCATION
AND LORDÕS PRAYER (unison)
O Lord,
send your word into our midst. Let us, like Abram, receive it honestly, despite
our fear, and respond to it faithfully, despite our trembling. Assure the
peoples of your presence, and we will enlist our passion in your service;
assure creation of your care, and we will commit our courage to your cause.
Send your word into our lives, O God. Let it dwell in our flesh, and we, like
the disciples, will receive it honestly, despite our fear, and respond to it
faithfully, despite our trembling.
Send
your word, renew your covenant with us as you did with Abram and Sarai, with
Moses and Aaron, and with all who have sought to follow you in faith and we
will give you praise through him who is the Word made flesh and who taught us
to prayÉ
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley
Traditional
Jesus walked this lonesome valley;
He had to walk it by himself.
Oh, nobody else could walk it for him;
He had to walk it by himself.
Jesus prayed for his disciples;
He prayed alone for you and me.
Oh, nobody else could bear such sorrow,
He prayed alone for you and me.
Jesus died on Calv'ry's mountain;
He died alone for you and me.
Oh, nobody else could die for sinners;
He had to die for your and me.
Jesus rose from death's dark prison;
He lives again for you and me,
Oh, nobody else could bring us victory;
He is alive to set us free!
Hear, O Israel
From The Book of Prayer
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One.
Thou shalt love the Lord, thy god,
with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might.
Praise be His name whose kingdom is forever.
And these words which I command thee,
shall live in your house and be on your heart.
How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place
from the Psalms, and Mary Lynn Lightfoot
Narrator: I through the abundance of thy steadfast love will enter
thy house;
lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness; make thy way straight
before me.
How lovely is thy dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts, O Lord of hosts!
How lovely is thy dwelling place!
My soul ever longs for the house of the Lord
and my heart sings for joy.
The children take refuge in the shadow of thy wings,
They feast on the plenties of thy house and drink from thy river
of delight.
For with thee is the fountain of life: And in thy light do we see
light
Oh send out thy light and thy truth and let them lead me,
Let them bring me to thy holy hill and to thy dwelling!
How lovely is thy dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts, O Lord of hosts!
How lovely is thy dwelling place!
My soul ever longs for the house of the Lord
and my heart sings for joy.
