CALL TO WORSHIP
Rev.
Samuel Schaal
Liturgist: Now
the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
People: And all of
us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a
mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to
another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
Liturgist: Therefore,
since it is by GodÕs mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose
heart.
People: But
we come to praise and worship the God who called down to earth, ÒThis is my
Son, my Chosen; listen to him!Ó
ALL: Amen.
CHORAL FANFARE
*HYMN 74 O
How Glorious, Full of Wonder
*INVOCATION
AND LORDÕS PRAYER (unison)
Holy
God, upon the mountain you revealed your Messiah, who by his death and
resurrection would fulfill both the Law and the Prophets. Let this Messiah,
transfigured then on the mountain, become our Messiah, the Christ of our hearts
and our minds. We ask you that the glory of your Son shine in our lives and
enlighten our path so that we see and experience that our faith is not in vain.
We pray these things in the name of the One who taught us to pray, sayingÉ
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.

Thou Knowest,
Lord, The Secrets Of Our Hearts
Edited by Charles H.
Morse
Thou knowest, Lord,
the secrets of our hearts;
shut not, Thy
merciful ears unto our prayers;
But spare us, Lord,
most holy, O god most mighty,
O holy and most
merciful Saviour,
Thou most worthy
Judge eternal,
Suffer us not at our
last hour
for any pains of
death to fall from Thee. Amen.
The Church's One
Foundation
Samuel J. Stone
The Church's one
foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is his new
creation by water and the word;
From heav'n he came
and sought her to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he
bought her and for her life he died.
Yet saints their watch are keeping, Their cry
goes up, "How Long?"
Elect from every
nation, Yet one o'er all the earth,
Her charter of
salvation One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy name she
blesses, Partakes on holy food,
And to one hope she
presses, with every grace endued.
And soon the night of
weeping shall be the morn of song.
Mid toil and
tribulation and tumult of her war,
She waits the
consummation of peace forever more;
Till with the vision
glorious Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great church
victorious shall be the church at rest.
God Be In My Head
Sarum Primer 1514
God be in my head,
and in my understanding;
God be in my eyes,
and in my looking;
God be in my mouth,
and in my speaking;
God be in my heart,
and in my thinking;
God be at mine end,
and at my departing. Amen
Jesus, Savior,
Pilot Me
Edward Hopper 1818 -
1888
Jesus, Savior, pilot
me
Over lifeÕs
tempestuous sea;
Unknown waves before
me roll,
Hiding rock and
treacherous shoal.
Chart and compass
come from Thee;
Jesus, Savior, pilot
me.
As a mother stills
her child,
Thou canst hush the
ocean wild;
Boisterous waves obey
Thy will,
When Thou sayest to
them, ÒBe still!Ó
Wondrous Sovereign of
the sea,
Jesus, Savior, pilot
me.
When at last I near
the shore,
And the fearful
breakers roar
ÕTwixt me and the
peaceful rest,
Then, while leaning
on Thy breast,
May I hear Thee say
to me,
ÒFear not, I will
pilot thee.Ó
