CALL TO WORSHIP

Liturgist:  At a time when rulers are shouting threats, a mighty chorus ever swelling,

People:  Holy, holy is the Lord, their idle boasts dispelling!

Liturgist:  So we come together in Christ's name, the spirit with us dwelling,

ALL:      And join the choirs of heaven and earth, our humble praises telling!

CHORAL FANFARE

*HYMN 8                     Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

*INVOCATION AND LORD'S PRAYER (unison)

O God, whose majesty rules the heavens above and whose glory fills the earth below, whose goodness no saint can approach and whose grace no sinner can defeat, we come together to acknowledge your majesty and rejoice in your glory, to affirm your goodness and claim your grace. Deliver us, dear Lord, as we bow before you in prayer, from pride in our achievements and from guilt over our transgressions, so that, in humble faith and with pure hearts, we might worship you in truth and serve you in love. We ask this in the name of him who taught us to call upon you saying...

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

We Are A Family

Huff/Jacobson

Here we stand together, a family you and I

A family lasts forever, on this you can rely

Together we are special, God made you and me

With Jesus as our guide, we'll always be, a family.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we are family.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we're God's family.

A family is simple, it's love that's always there.

It's people helping people and showing that you care.

So I will stand beside you and you'll be there for me.

Wherever two are gathered you can see, God's family.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we are family.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we're God's family.

One and one is two. Two and two makes four.

With God's help, we can always do much more, much more.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we are family.

A family, a family, we're all part of God's family.

Can't you see? You and me, we're God's family.

We're God's family. We are family.

Children of the Heavenly Father

Caroline V. Sandell Berg, 1832-1903

tr. Ernst W. Olson, 1870 - 1958

Children of the heavenly Father

Safely in his bosom gather;

Nestling bird nor star in heaven

Such a refuge ne'er was given.

God his own doth tend and nourish,

In his holy courts they flourish.

From all evil things he spares them,

In his mighty arms he bears them.

Neither life nor death shall ever

From the Lord his children sever;

Unto them his grace he showeth,

And their sorrows all he knoweth.

Who Are You, Lord?

Errol T. Elliott

Who are you Lord, who will not rest until I rest in thee?

In seeking you my whole life through, I find eternity.

Who are you, Lord?

Are you the burning bush that Moses knew?

You turn my steps to those in need; a need to follow you.

Who are you, Lord?

Who are you Lord, that still, small voice, a call so strong.

My guiding light, the wrong made right; who are you, Lord?

Who are you, Lord, whose call is heard beyond all sound and sight?

Are you the shepherd of the sheep who watches both day and night?

Who are you, Lord, who will not rest until I rest in Thee?

In seeking you my whole life through, I find eternity. Who are you, Lord?

Assurance

Fanny J. Crosby

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

O what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my savior am happy and blest,

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior, all the day long.
