CHORAL FANFARE
*HYMN 263 Christ is Made the Sure Foundation
*INVOCATION AND LORDS PRAYER (unison)
O God, we come together to explore the meaning of our membership in the body of Christ. As we examine ourselves, keep ever before us the example of him whom you appointed the head of the body. So guide our reflection on the life of Jesus that we might find your purpose for ours. We come to you in the name of him who taught us to pray
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Minister: O Christ, you have blessed the members of your body with many
and diverse gifts.
People: Now send us forth to bear witness to the oneness of our God
and the unity of your church.
Minister: You have given none of us all the gifts for bringing your kingdom to earth.
People: But you have given each of us some gift for bringing your kingdom
to earth.
Minister: Therefore let us not hold back, lamenting the gifts we do not have;
All: But let us press ahead, employing the gifts we do have.
Minister: And may the blessing of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit accompany us on our way, both now and forevermore. Amen. Go in peace!
*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE
Go now in peace. Never be afraid. God will go with you each hour of every day.
Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true. Know He will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love, and show you believe. Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there, watching from above. Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.

The Prayers I Make
The prayers I make will then be sweet indeed,
If Thou the spirit give by which I pray;
My unassisted heart is barren clay,
Which of its native self can nothing feed;
Of good and pious works Thou art the seed
Which quickens where Thou say'st it may;
Unless Thou show us then Thine own true way,
No man can find it! Father, Thou must lead!
Do Thou, then, breathe those thoughts into my mind
By which such virtue may in me be bred
That in Thy holy footsteps I may tread;
The fetters of my tongue do Thou unbind,
That I may have the power to sing of Thee
And sound, and sound Thy praises everlastingly.
Prayer
Haweis and Cotterill, 1792
O Thou, from whom all goodness flows,
I lift my soul to Thee;
In all my sorrows, conflicts, woes,
Dear Lord, remember me!
When on my aching burdened heart
My sins lie heavily,
My pardon speak new peace impart;
In love remember me.
Temptations obstruct my way,
and ills I cannot flee;
O give me strength, Lord, as my day;
For good remember me.
And when before Thy throne
I stand and lift my soul to Thee;
Then with the saints at Thy right hand,
Good Lord, remember me. Amen.
The Lord Our Mighty Sov'reign
The Lord our mighty Sov'reign will help us surely,
He shall deliver the needy when he calleth,
the poor, the needy and him who toils alone.
He is gracious to them. He is gracious to the sorely afflicted,
and the souls
of His people He will render aid.
He is come unto us with graciousness,
and extends His grace unto His people;
He supports the meek with splendid assistance.
His thoughts are of us, He blesses us.
The Lord is with His people eternally,
from henceforth to eternity.
For His mercy endureth,
For His mercy and His love will be with us forever,
For His mercy and love endureth with us in eternity.
Hallelujah.
