*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Eternal God, your Son, Jesus Christ, now exalted as Lord of all, pours out his gifts on the church. Grant us that unity which your Spirit gives, keep us in the bond of peace, and bring all creation to worship before your throne; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer, who taught us to pray…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Minister: O God, whose spirit blesses us with many and various gifts,

Minister: If we have more or greater gifts than others,
People: Let us not boast, for all our gifts are given by you for the good of all.
Minister: If our neighbors have more or greater gifts than we,
People: Let us not grumble, for all their gifts are given by you for the good of all.
Minister: If we have tasks too big for our gifts,
People: Let us not be quick to spurn the help of others.
Minister: If our neighbors have gifts that are too small for their tasks,
People: Let us not be slow to offer our help to others.

All: Help us to employ our gifts to manifest the spirit of Christ.

Spirit of Mercy, Truth and Love
anonymous

Spirit of mercy, truth and love,
O shed your influence from above;
and still from age to age convey
the wonders of this sacred day.

In ev'ry clime, by ev'ry tongue
be God's eternal glory sung: |
let all the list'ning earth confess
the Name that claims our faithfulness.

Unfailing Comfort, heav'nly Guide,
still o'er this holy Church preside;
descend upon us like a dove,
Spirit of mercy, truth and love.

In The Shadow Of Your Wings
Phil Speary, based on Psalm 57

Gracious God be merciful,
O my God be merciful.
My soul is crying out to you.
My only refuge Lord is you, God most high.

In the shadow of your wings,
'neath the shadow of your wings.
My soul finds rest from my deep distress.
My heart hides there till this darkness passes by.

I cry to God on high whose purpose is fulfilled for me.
He reaches down to save and reproaches him who threatens me.
Gracious God, be merciful,

O my God, be merciful.
My soul finds love and truth in you.
No other place of safety Lord but you.
In the shadow of your wings I hide,
O my God most high.

We Worship You Alone
Reginald Heber

Holy, holy, holy, holy.
We come in awe to worship you,
we kneel before your throne.
Our hearts are hungry for your touch,
we worship you alone.

Holy, holy, holy, holy.
We come in awe to worship you,
we kneel before your throne.
Our lives are longing for your love,
we worship you alone.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty.
God in three persons blessed trinity.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Only thou art holy, there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.
We worship you alone.
