CHORAL FANFARE

*HYMN OF PRAISE 15 Praise to the Lord

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND LORD’S PRAYER (unison)

Eternal God, at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan you proclaimed your beloved Son, and anointed him with the Holy Spirit. Grant that all who are baptized into his name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, and who taught us to pray…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Prayer Litany
St. Francis of Assisi, (1181-1226)
St. Richard of Chichester, (1197-1253)

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace day by day.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
and where there is despair, may I sow hope.
Where there is darkness, let me sow light,
and where there is sadness, may I sow joy.
And Lord of thee three things I pray,
To see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly,
and follow thee more nearly day by day.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace day by day.
Let me sow love, hope, light, joy!

Spirit of God
George Croly

Spirit of God, descend upon my heart,
Wean it from earth; Through all its pulses move.
Spirit of God, descend .
Stoop to my weakness mighty as Thou art,
And make me love Thee as I ought to love.
Spirit of God descend.

Peace Unto You
John Parker

Peace unto you when your feet are weary,
peace unto you when your path grows dim;
Peace unto you when you don't see clearly,
peace unto you when you find you can't find Him.
Peace unto you when your heart is breaking,
peace unto you when your spirit cries;
Peace unto you when your soul is aching,
peace unto you when your hope, your last hope dies.
Peace unto you when in pray'r you're pleading,
peace unto you when you cease to roam;
Peace unto you when in fin'lly seeking peace,
you find that you're fin'lly home.

Jesus, Name of Wondrous Love
William W. How

Jesus, Name of wondrous love,
Name all other names above!
Unto which must every knee
Bow in deep humility.
Jesus, Name of priceless worth
To the fallen sons of earth,
For the promise that it gave,
"Jesus shall his people save."
Jesus, Name of wondrous love!
Human Name of God above;
Pleading only this we flee
Helpless, O our God, to thee.
Jesus, Name of wondrous love.
